Thrifty Books

I have been absolutely slammed at work due to a looming deadline. It’s meant that I’ve worked evenings and weekends on this project, and yesterday was no different. I was lucky enough to be working from home, but being stuck to your computer when the day is so bright and sunny just sucks. I just needed to get out of my office for a little bit, so late in the afternoon, I took a break. I’ve mentioned before that most of my book collection has come from yard sales, thrift stores, flea markets, and the like. Well, I needed some shopping therapy (I can’t really say retail therapy, since it’s not really retail shopping), so I decided to take a short break and go to one of the dozens of thrift stores/consignment stores that are within 10 miles of my house. It wound up being a fruitful trip, and along with a couple of odds and ends, I bought 4 “new” books to add to my collection. I picked up Savannah Breeze by Mary Kay Andrews, Blood Trinity by Sherrilyn Kenyon and Dianna Love, The Poisonwood Bible by Barbara Kingsolver, and Middlemarch by George Eliot. Overall, I’d say my spoils were pretty good and eclectic, and I only paid 50 cents per book.

Have you picked up any new or new-to-you titles this week?
