Helton Creek Falls

Greg and I went exploring again today, and decided to visit Helton Creek Falls (luckily not closed off due to Gov’t shutdown). I will not call this a “hike” because you can literally see the falls from the road, and it’s a .2 mile path to the upper falls. It was more like a leisurely scenic walk which lasted about 20 minutes in total. The drive there and back was more of an adventure, but at least it was an aesthetically pleasing trip this morning.

We took Scotch and Twinkie with us. They decided that they wanted to play in the pool at the base of the lower falls. Then, they decided to run through some mud. The result is what I dub “Cookies-n-Cream” feet. You’ll see what I’m talking about in the pictures.

We also discovered a few new trails and recreation areas that we’d like to investigate on a later date. I love richness of the Northeast Georgia forests!
